The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves is an innovative public-private partnership led by the United Nations Foundation and hosted at its headquarters in Washington, DC. The Alliance is run by a small Secretariat led by Executive Director Radha Muthiah who manages the day-to-day operations of the Alliance, as well as represents the Alliance to external audiences. The Executive Director reports to the UN Foundation’s chief executive officer and serves as a member of the Foundation’s senior staff. The Alliance Secretariat is supported by a Secretariat of technical, administrative, communications, and project management professionals who work closely with the more than 350 international partners from the private, government, UN, non-governmental, and academic sectors.
Additional support is provided to the Secretariat by the UN Foundation’s Public Affairs, Policy, Learning & Evaluation, Finance, and Administrative teams. In addition the Secretariat works closely with a number of external partners, who have been deeply immersed in the development of the Alliance’s programs, partnerships, and governance structure, and lend their expertise and staff time to the work of the initiative.
